Why We Use Industrial-Grade Pumps

The high-pressure pump does the hardest job on any watermaker: pressurising seawater to around 800 psi, hour after hour, in the most corrosive environment there is. It is the single component that decides whether a watermaker lasts two seasons or twenty years.

So we don't fit generic pumps and hope. Every LEDI system is built around a proven, USA-made industrial pump — the same units running in commercial duty around the world — each chosen for one specific job, and backed with genuine spares held at our Gold Coast workshop.

Scout runs the Pumptec 107SS

Pumptec

Pumptec 107SS high-pressure watermaker pump

The Scout's 10 and 20 LPH output comes from a Pumptec 107SS high-pressure plunger pump — machined in the USA from a single billet of marine-grade stainless steel, and built to be rebuilt.

  • Oil-free ceramic plunger — no oil changes, ever, and no oil anywhere near your drinking water.
  • One billet of marine-grade stainless — no seams, no plated mild steel, nothing for salt to get into.
  • Quiet, low-draw 12V operation — runs happily off a battery bank and solar surplus.
  • Field-serviceable — plunger, seals and valves are all replaceable without sending the unit away. We publish the parts list and stock the kits.

Nomad runs the CAT Pumps 2SFSEEL

CAT Pumps — The Pumps with Nine Lives

CAT Pumps 2SF stainless steel direct-drive plunger pump

The higher-output Nomad steps up to the CAT Pumps 2SFSEEL — a best-in-class compact direct-drive plunger pump from the company that has set the standard for industrial triplex pumps since 1968. There's a reason they're known as “the pumps with nine lives”.

  • Compact direct drive — the pump couples straight to the motor. No belts, no pulleys, no alignment to drift.
  • Triplex plunger design — three solid ceramic plungers deliver smooth, low-pulsation flow at 800 psi.
  • 316 stainless liquid end — engineered specifically for continuous seawater reverse-osmosis duty.
  • Headroom for 40, 60 and 80 L/h — sized so the Nomad never has to run flat out.
  • Standard seal and valve kits — genuine CAT Pumps service parts, no proprietary lock-in.

Serviced, not binned

A consumer-grade pump is a throwaway part — when it fails, the watermaker is done. An industrial pump is a platform: every wear part has a published spec and a genuine service kit behind it.

We hold seal kits, valve kits and spares for both pumps on the Gold Coast, ship them Australia-wide and internationally, and we'll talk you through a rebuild on the phone. Both pumps are covered by the same 2-year LEDI warranty as the system they power — and we service every unit we've ever built.
