Nomad
Portable output with an install-grade build. Choose your membrane output, onboard voltage and high-pressure pump — the control panel, TDS monitor and flow meter are built in as standard. Set it up once, then make safe drinking water from seawater, day after day.
-
40, 60 or 80 L/h output — sized for couples, families or full crews.
-
CAT Pumps 2SFSEEL — best-in-class compact direct-drive plunger pump, 316 stainless and fully serviceable.
-
Control panel, TDS monitor & flow meter built in — standard, not paid extras.
-
Runs on your bank — 12 or 24V DC, or 240V via mains adapter. Solar-friendly. 48V BLDC available as a custom premium upgrade.
-
316 stainless DEFLOK fittings and marine-grade construction — built to last.
Every control where you can see it.
No hidden boards. No app. Pressure, flow, water quality and power state all live on the front face — exactly the way an engineer would build it for themselves.
Built to be run, not babied.
Prime, run, flush and verify — every control is on the front face, so you always know exactly what the unit is doing.
- 1LPP & HPP switchesLow- and high-pressure pumps on toggles. Prime, run, flush — all in your hand.
- 2Feed & membrane gaugesDual analog gauges. See pressure on the pre-filter and the RO membrane at a glance.
- 3TDS monitor (SM-1)On-board total dissolved solids reading in ppm. Confirms the water is safe to drink before it reaches the tank.
- 4LPH flow meterLive litres-per-hour. Tune your back-pressure regulator without guessing.
Three stages from seawater to tank.
1 · Pre-filter
Seawater is drawn in through a stainless intake strainer and passed through a 2-stage pre-filter — sediment, fines, then a polish stage to protect the membrane.
2 · Reverse osmosis
The high-pressure pump forces water through a marine-grade RO membrane at ~55 bar. Salt and contaminants stay behind. Fresh water comes through the other side.
3 · Verify & tank
The TDS monitor confirms the output reads < 500 ppm. The flow meter shows real litres-per-hour. Clean water flows directly into your fresh tank.
Why we build around CAT Pumps.
The high-pressure pump is the hardest-working part of any watermaker. We didn't design our own — we built the Nomad around the best one we could buy.
The 2SFSEEL — best-in-class compact direct-drive plunger pump.
CAT Pumps have been building high-pressure plunger pumps in the USA since 1968 — they're known in the industry as "the pumps with nine lives". The 2SFSEEL is their seawater RO specialist, and it's the only high-pressure pump we fit to Nomad.
- 1Compact direct driveNo belts, no pulleys, no alignment to drift. The pump couples straight to the motor — that's how the whole module fits the Nomad chassis.
- 2Triplex plunger designThree plungers deliver smooth, low-pulsation flow at 55 bar, hour after hour.
- 3316 stainless liquid endCorrosion resistance where it counts — engineered for continuous seawater reverse-osmosis duty.
- 4Solid ceramic plungersExtremely hard wear surfaces mean long seal life and consistent pressure over thousands of hours.
- 5Built to be rebuiltSeal kits and valve kits are standard, off-the-shelf CAT Pumps parts — no proprietary lock-in, ever.
The numbers that matter.
Everything in one chassis.
Nomad ships as a complete head unit. Connect feed and product hose, wire to DC, and you're making water — no control box, no separate gauge bank.
Before you buy a Nomad.
Does the Nomad need to be fixed in place?
No. Nomad can be run as a portable watermaker, then packed away when not in use. It is built with the controls, plumbing and chassis integration to handle long-term service without needing to be locked into one layout.
What's the difference between Nomad and Scout?
Scout is the lighter grab-and-go option at 10 or 20 LPH. Nomad keeps the portable DNA, then steps up output, controls and serviceability — available in 40, 60 or 80 LPH with all controls on one panel.
What power options are available?
Nomad is available in 12V or 24V DC. A 48V BLDC motor is available as a custom premium upgrade — longer service intervals and higher efficiency for serious off-grid banks. A 1500W 240V AC waterproof power supply is also available. Talk to an engineer to spec a 48V or 240V setup.
What high-pressure pump does Nomad use?
Nomad uses a CAT Pumps 2SFSEEL stainless steel high-pressure pump, selected for long service life in harsh marine conditions.
Can it run on brackish water?
Yes. Nomad is built for seawater duty, so brackish water is an easier job. Output can increase and operating pressure can drop depending on salinity and feed conditions.
What's the warranty and service story?
2 years parts and labour with free product registration (12 months standard), pro-rata on the RO membrane. We're on the Gold Coast — when you call LEDI, you talk to the engineers who built it. Spares ship Australia-wide; international service via our partner network.
