I run the 12V LEDI Scout with a 300Ah battery and 200W solar panel. It gives us dependable fresh water with very little draw from the battery. The unit is light, durable, great value, and suits our catamaran really well.
Drinking water.
Anywhere you go.
Australian-made reverse-osmosis watermakers for marine, 4WD, camping, disaster relief and military operations. Veteran-owned. Engineer-built. Made on the Gold Coast.
One engineering platform. Five environments.
From a yacht in the Whitsundays to a humanitarian deployment in the Pacific, the same LEDI hardware adapts to your power, water, and load profile. Pick the environment that fits — we will help size the unit.
Make water at anchor. Skip the marina.
For sailing yachts, motor cruisers, catamarans and tenders. Scout drops in without an install. Nomad mounts permanently. Modular fits a custom plumbing run.
Bores, creeks, station tanks — drinkable by lunchtime.
Touring rigs, troopcarriers, expedition campers. Run Scout off auxiliary 12V or wall-mount a Modular kit in the canopy. We will size for the worst water you expect.
Cabins, base camps, longer stays away.
Off-grid cabins and expedition logistics. Nomad runs all day on a moderate solar array; Scout grabs water from any nearby source for as long as you are out there.
Stand up clean water inside an hour.
Quick-deploy systems for NGOs, councils and emergency response teams. Modular kits ship in transit cases with quick-connect manifolds — water for a village of 80 from one Nomad 80.
Ration-grade water in austere environments.
Section-level Scout units for patrols and life-raft kits; Modular FOB systems for sustained operations. Serviceable, off-the-shelf consumables, no proprietary lock-in.
Three platforms. One job: clean drinking water.
Same RO membranes, same stainless hardware, same pumps — packaged for how you operate. All units are field-serviceable with off-the-shelf cartridges.
Portable
Grab-and-go
SCOUT
Briefcase-style portable watermaker. Drop the intake, prime the pump, make water. Built for camping, day-bags and life-raft kits.

Self Contained
NOMAD
All-in-one chassis with 2-stage pre-filter, gauges, TDS monitor and flow meter. The everyday workhorse for yachts, cabins and serious expedition vehicles.
Configurable
Customise to your setup
MODULAR
Wall-mounted control module + RO housing + filter bank. For builders, integrators, and field deployments where geometry matters.
Seawater in. Drinking water out.
Reverse osmosis pushes feed water through a semi-permeable membrane at high pressure. Salt and contaminants stay behind. What comes through is clean, drinkable, and sized for how you operate.
- 1
Intake & pre-filter
Stainless intake screens out particulates. A 3-stage pre-filter pulls down to 5 µm before the membrane sees a drop.
- 2
High-pressure pump
A 12 V or 24 V DC positive-displacement pump pressurises feed water to 55 bar. Native DC — no inverter, no shore power needed.
- 3
RO membrane
Salt, microplastics, bacteria and viruses stay on the brine side. Permeate exits at <500 ppm TDS — well under WHO drinking-water limits.
- 4
Polish & deliver
UV steriliser closes the loop. Optional Carbon inline filter for taste. Plumb to your tank or fill jerry cans direct.
Designed in Australia. Built for the ocean — and everywhere off-grid.
We started LEDI because the gear we needed in the field did not exist at a price working crews could afford. Every unit is assembled in our Gold Coast factory by the same engineers who will answer your call. No call centre. No "premium experience." Just water.
From people who can not afford gear that fails.
We deployed LEDI units after Cyclone Vaianu, we were able to decentralise our water supply to cutoff communities
The Scout lives in my Troopy. Tank water in WA is unreliable. Plug it into auxiliary, drop the line in any creek or bore, and we have drinking water in minutes.
Before you buy.
Which LEDI is right for me?
Start with how you operate. Grab-and-go, weight-sensitive, or short trips: Scout. Daily on-board use, larger crews, or permanent vehicle/yacht install: Nomad. Custom plumbing, deployment, or output above 85 LPH: Modular. Or call us — we will size it from your power, water, and crew profile.
Will it run on my batteries and solar?
Yes — that is the design centre. Every LEDI is native 12 V or 24 V DC. A Scout 10 LPH runs comfortably on a 200 Ah house bank with 200 W of solar. A Nomad 80 needs a 24 V system with surplus capacity. We will confirm based on your specific setup.
What water can it process?
Open seawater (up to 35 000 ppm), brackish bores, contaminated freshwater, even moderately turbid creek water with the right pre-filter stage. The membrane removes salts, heavy metals, microplastics, bacteria, viruses and protozoa. Output meets Australian drinking-water standards.
Is the water actually safe to drink?
Yes. RO permeate at <500 ppm TDS, polished through carbon, and (optional) UV-sterilised. We test every unit before it leaves the bench.
What about disaster relief / military deployments?
We sell direct to NGOs, councils, defence units and integrators. Modular kits ship with quick-connect manifolds and weatherproof transit cases. Talk to our deployment team — we will match the spec to the operating environment.
Servicing & spares?
Cartridges and membranes are off-the-shelf marine standards. We stock spares at our GC factory and ship AU-wide same day. Service intervals are simple — pre-filters every 6 months, membrane every 3-5 years depending on use.
Tell us where you operate. We will spec the unit.
Boat, vehicle, base camp, deployment — describe the conditions and the crew, and we will come back with a sized recommendation, power profile, and quote. Usually within one business day.
