Product overview

Why buyers choose this Modular configuration

Modular Watermaker Kit

The LEDI Modular Kit gives you full freedom over where and how your watermaker is installed. It uses the same proven, high-quality components as the fully portable LEDI Scout and Nomad, but in a format designed for permanent, below-deck installation.

The system is pre-assembled into four compact modules, making installation straightforward: mount the modules, plug them together, and connect to your boat. No fabrication, no guesswork.

Compared to the portable Systems, the modular kit adds larger pre-filters for longer service intervals, an automatic freshwater flush, and a remote control panel. Install the hardware out of the way below deck and control the system from a convenient location on board.

Detailed installation diagrams are included, and Australian-based technical support is available if you need it.

Why Modular

Built for a clean permanent install, not a compromise retrofit.

LEDI Modular is the right choice when you want the watermaker installed out of sight, controlled from a practical onboard location, and matched to your boat's real daily water demand.

Best for Permanent below-deck installs, clean fit-outs and regular onboard use.
Choose by output 10 to 20 LPH for lighter use, 20 to 40 LPH for the common sweet spot, 40 LPH plus for heavier daily demand.
Why it feels different Remote control panel, automatic freshwater flush and larger pre-filtration make day-to-day ownership simpler.

Not sure which configuration fits your boat? Choose the closest output and voltage direction, then speak to LEDI for a final recommendation before ordering.

Why this setup works

Designed for Self-Installation

The LEDI Modular Kits are engineered specifically to remove the usual risks and complexity of installing a watermaker.

The systems are broken down into four pre-assembled modules, keeping individual components compact, manageable, and easy to position in tight spaces. All high-pressure plumbing, electrical interfaces, and control logic are standardised, eliminating custom fabrication and reducing installation errors.

Component selection prioritises tolerance to real-world conditions: self-priming intake, mechanical pressure protection, automatic flushing, and continuous water-quality monitoring. These features reduce the likelihood of damage from incorrect setup, dry running, or operator error.

Clear, diagram-based installation documentation is provided, and Australian-based technical support is available if required. The result is a system that competent owners can install themselves with confidence, without sacrificing reliability or serviceability.

Feed pump

Continuous-duty low-pressure feed pump for dependable water supply into the system.

Built for reliable everyday operation.

LEDI uses brushless DC centrifugal feed pumps that are fully waterproof and designed for continuous-duty use. They include dry-run protection, blocked-port protection and automatic restart when prime is restored.

For smaller 12V Pumptec-based systems, LEDI pairs the pump with a single-chamber layout. Higher-flow CATPUMP systems use the two-chamber design for stronger feed stability. Best practice is to install the pump below the waterline and protect it with the inline sea strainer.

High-pressure pump

Matched to output range, voltage and the level of daily water demand.

Choose the pump that fits the job.

For flow rates up to 20 LPH, LEDI uses the 316 stainless Pumptec 107SS plunger pump. For higher-output configurations, LEDI steps up to the 316 stainless CATPUMP 2SFSEEL platform for up to 160 LPH.

All CATPUMP-based systems include integrated pressure-switch protection against dry running, making them the stronger choice when output and duty cycle increase.

Membrane and housing

Multiple housing layouts let LEDI fit the system to vessel space and output requirements.

Configured around both space and output.

  • 1 x 2521 housing: around 20 LPH with Pumptec, or around 40 LPH with CATPUMP
  • 2 x 2514 in series: for tighter spaces, around 20 LPH with Pumptec, or around 40 LPH with CATPUMP
  • 2 x 2521 in series: around 60 to 80 LPH with CATPUMP
  • 1 x 2540: around 60 to 90 LPH with CATPUMP
  • 2 x 2540: around 130 to 160 LPH with CATPUMP and 48V setups

The goal is not just maximum production. It is choosing the right membrane layout for the room you have and the runtime you want.

Remote control panel

Install the hardware below deck and control the system from where it actually makes sense onboard.

Built for clean installed ownership.

The LEDI control panel is powder-coated aluminium and can be mounted on vertical or horizontal surfaces within 1.5 m of the watermaker. It can also be flush-mounted when the correct cut-out is prepared.

The panel includes power switches, feed pressure gauge, membrane pressure gauge, permeate flow meter, TDS sensor and permeate selector for tank or waste. That means you can monitor performance and manage product water without leaning over the machinery space.
